ESPN’s College GameDay show has kicked off three of the past four college football seasons at the Cowboys Classic in Arlington, Texas. The worldwide leader has officially announced that the iconic pregame show will once again begin another campaign from the Lone Star State. It will originate from the inter-conference clash between defending SEC Champion Alabama and Wisconsin.
It comes as no surprise, considering the showdown between the No. 3-ranked Tide and the No. 18-ranked Badgers will be the premier matchup of the Week 1 slate.
The last time Alabama took part in the Cowboys Classic was back in 2012, when Nick Saban’s squad demolished an overmatched Michigan Wolverines team 41-14. New Wisconsin coach Paul Chryst will surely be hoping his group can better represent the Big Ten against a talented Tide team that enters the season with something to prove, following a playoff semifinal loss to Ohio State back in January.
